APC PowerChute software and Oracle JRE

Issue:
Does APC PowerChute Business Edition and PowerChute Network Shutdown software use JRE?

Product Line:
PowerChute Business Edition 9.5 and older
PowerChute Network Shutdown 4.3 and older
Environment:
All support OS

Cause:
Oracle’s support for JRE 8 ended January 2019.

Solution:
APC released PowerChute Business Edition v10.x and above along with PowerChute Network Shutdown v4.4.x and above which use OpenJDK. This is the way recommended by Oracle to use Java in future without having to pay a license fee.
Both software products will also include an easy way to keep OpenJDK up to date and this will be fully documented as part of these new software versions.
