How do I upgrade the PowerChute Network Shutdown (PCNS) application running on the Virtual Appliance.

Issue:
Want to upgrade the version of PowerChute Network Shutdown installed on the PowerChute virtual appliance.

Product Line:
PowerChute Network Shutdown

Environment:
PowerChute Network Shutdown VM

Cause:
Newer version of PowerChute Network Shutdown is available

Solution:

To run an updated version of PowerChute power off the current PowerChute VM, and install the latest version of the PowerChute Virtual Appliance. The latest version will contain updated security and an updated version of Linux. We do not support upgrading the version of PowerChute running on the PowerChute VM.

NOTE: You can save the PowerChute configuration from an older version to use with a new Virtual Appliance. To do so login to the current PowerChute Virtual Appliance and go to /opt/APC/PowerChute/group1. Save a copy of the pcndconfig.ini file. After installing the new Virtual Appliance you can copy the saved pcnsconfig.ini file to the new Virtual Appliance. PowerChute will then use the copied configuration.
