How do I recycle APC batteries in the US and Canada?

​Schneider Electric is committed to safeguarding our planet. Because batteries contain hazardous materials they must be disposed of properly.


Please find two options for recycling the old batteries below. They may be recycled locally using Call2Recycle or though our Replacement Battery Cartridge Recycling Program.
Replacement Battery Cartridge Recycling Program:
1. Browse to the following URL:
2. Enter the following LOGIN ID and PASSWORD.
LOGIN ID: rbcreturns
PASSWORD: apcrbc0309
3. Complete the form and click "Continue" to email the prepaid label and, optionally, click the "Return Label" button to display the label in the browser.
4. Follow the instructions with the label to ship package. Please note that if FedEx is called for a special pickup, they will charge a fee that is not covered by the shipping tag.

For 3-Phase batteries:
When Schneider does a battery replacement service, recycling is built in and we will take batteries off site. However, if batteries are purchased elsewhere and replaced by customer it is their responsibility to recycle them. Customer may choose to recycle batteries at a metal recycling center or drop batteries off at a Battery store such as Batteries Plus, Interstate Batteries, etc.
