Cause:
This is a known Microsoft issue specific to Windows 2008 Server Core R2 and Windows HyperV Server 2008 R2 - see http://support.microsoft.com/kb/978309.
Solution:
If you experience this issue you should stop the PowerChute service, install the Microsoft hotfix for KB978309 and re-start the machine.
