Process for verifying the checksum of a StruxureWare Data Center Expert upgrade file after download.

Prior to upgrading StruxureWare Data Center Expert, it is always recommended that the upgrade zip file is checked for corruption. Otherwise, it is possible to corrupt the entire system while the upgrade process is running. Once the system is corrupted the only way to recover to a working configuration is a complete restore and import of a backup. Please see knowledge base FA299440 for step by step instructions on creating a backup to a Windows share.

The following video tutorial features a free MD5 Checksum program called WinMD5 that is readily available on the World Wide Web.
1) Download and Install WinMD5 checksum validator.

2) Run the WinMD5 program and browse to the upgrade zip file.

3) The checksum will be computed and display on the screen.

4) Copy the MD5 Checksum from the download page provided by technical support.

5) Paste the MD5 Checksum into the original MD5 checksum field and click Verify.

6) If the two checksums match, the file download is good.  If the checksums do not match, redownload the file and verify again.
