Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Value & Performance Specs I shopped at Best Buy none of the surge protectors had the controlled outputs that this model has. In addition, the APC surge protector has a lifetime warranty on both the product and connected equipment that many competitors don't offer. The reason for selecting this partcular model was based partly on better surge protection specs.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Choose APC If you value your Electronic Equipment, you should have EVERYTHING Plugged into an APC Product. A short time ago, we encountered a DIRECT Lightning HIT to our service. Everything connected to the APC units survived. Everything else........FRIED!!! - - APC is by far, THE BEST at protecting your Electronics!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from super Needed another Surge Arrest to replace an older APC of similar design that I moved to use for another purpose. This one works well, but I wish that it had a couple of "always on" outlets, but don't really need them for what I am using it for. One other slight complaint is that the indicator that shows the unit is "on" does not light up like the old one does. Hard to tell if it is on or off.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very versatile unit! This 11 outlet SurgeArrest unit does everything! It even protects coax and phone and the best part is the 6 outlets that are spaced further apart so you can fit larger plugs! ALL units should have this feature! Highly recommended!

P11GTV Features

APC Power-Saving Performance SurgeArrest, 11 Outlets with Phone and Video Protection, 120V
Maximum Power Surge Protection for Computers, Notebooks and Other Electronics
Includes: Coaxial cable, Telephone Cable, User Manual
  • 180 degree Rotating Cord Retainer
A 180-degree rotating cord with strain relief offers flexibility in positioning the SurgeArrest, and in routing the power cord.
  • Computer compatibility
The "Power-Saving Outlets" feature will work regardless of whether a desktop computer, laptop or netbook is used as the "Master" device.
  • IEEE let-through rating and UL 1449 compliance
The 'Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers' (IEEE) Let-Through Voltage rating is based on a test that subjects a Surge Protector to a 6,000 volt spike. The rating equates to the amount of excess voltage that reaches connected equipment. The lower the number, the better the performance of the Surge Protector is. Underwriter's Laboratory's UL1449 surge protection safety standard uses these ratings to help users gauge performance. UL's best Transient Voltage Surge Suppressor (TVSS) Let-Through Voltage rating is "300V".
  • Lightning and Surge Protection
To prevent damage to your equipment from electric power surges and spikes.
  • Noise Filtering
Attenuates EMI/RFI line noise that can cause data errors and keyboard lockups, ensuring better performance of protected equipment.
  • Power-saving outlets
Automatically cuts power to idle equipment to conserve electricity.
  • Receptacle Shock Safety Shutters
Shutters protect users from accidental contact with unused outlets.
  • Resettable circuit breaker
Easy recovery from overloads; no need to replace a fuse. (Not available on Wall Tap SKUs)
  • Right Angle Plug
Plug angle allows for equipment and furniture to be placed closer to the wall than with a standard power cord. Reduces cord stress too.
  • Status Indicator LED's
LED status indicators for each phase and an audible alarm provide immediate failure notification when surge suppression circuitry has been damaged by a heavy strike or surge.
  • Transformer Block Spacing
Connect bulky transformer block plugs without covering up other outlets.

SurgeArrest Performance Features & Benefits

Safety

Site wiring fault indicator
In order to work properly, surge suppressors require a correctly wired and grounded outlet. APC surge protectors identify dangerous wiring problems before you plug in your equipment.
Protection working indicator
SurgeArrest will warn you if its circuitry has been damaged by heavy strike or power line surge and it is unable to provide 100% protection. If still under warranty, APC will then replace your damaged SurgeArrest free of charge.
Fail Safe Mode
Most other surge suppressors continue to let power through even after their circuits have been damaged, leaving your equipment exposed to future surges. APC's SurgeArrest fail safe, which means that once the circuit of an APC SurgeArrest has been compromised the unit disconnects equipment from the power supply ensuring that no damaging surges reach your equipment.
Plug Activated Safety Shutters
Shutters protect users from accidental contact with unused outlets.
Cord Management
To help organize power cords.
Catastrophic Event Protection
SurgeArrest components such as MOVs and Thermal fuse ensure instantaneous reaction to lightning strikes and wiring faults. If the surge components are damaged due to power spike or over voltage, excess power cannot reach your equipment. Unlike the APC SurgeArrest products, most surge suppressors continue to let power through even after circuits have been damaged, leaving your equipment exposed to other damaging surges.
Adjustable Cable Management
Keeps cords and cables neat and organized.
Overload Indicator
Indicator illuminates when connected equipment draws more power than unit’s capacity. To remedy the condition, unplug less vital equipment.

Convenience

Transformer Block Spacing
Connect bulky transformer block plugs without covering up other outlets.
180 degree Rotating Cord Retainer
A 180-degree rotating cord with strain relief offers flexibility in positioning the SurgeArrest, and in routing the power cord.

Data-line Protection
Protection of data lines (Ethernet, Coaxial and Phone lines) ensures complete protection of your equipment from surges. It is very important to protect your equipment from “back door” electric surges traveling through data lines, as they can be as damaging to your equipment as surges traveling over power lines.
