PowerChute Business Edition does not discover Easy UPS (SRVL) during installation

Issue,
After connecting Easy UPS to Windows OS using the USB cable PowerChute Business Edition does not discover the UPS.

Product Line:
PowerChute Business Edition version 10.0.5 and above

Environment:
All supported Windows OS
Easy UPS (SRVL)

Cause:
For the Easy UPS to be discovered and be able to communicate with PowerChute Business Edition, Maxlinear USB to Serial driver must be installed prior to installing PowerChute.

Solution:
Download and install the Maxlinear driver (v2.6 and above) from https://www.maxlinear.com/support/design-tools/software-drivers.

Steps to Install Maxlinear driver on GUI based Windows OS

1. Download the Maxlinear driver from the above URL and extract the file.
2. Copy the extracted file to the Windows GUI based machine where you wish to install PCBE.
3. Navigate to the directory where you have copied the extracted file.
4. Go to the following location inside extracted file (\V2.6.0.0 Drivers\x64).
5. Right-Click on the “xrusbser.inf” file and click on Install.
6. Once the driver is installed, reboot the server.

Steps to Install Maxlinear driver on Server Core/Hyper-V Windows Servers.

1. Download the Maxlinear driver from the above URL and Extract the file.
2. Copy the Extracted file to the Windows Server Core/Hyper-V Server where you wish to install PCBE.
3. Open command prompt and navigate to the directory where you have copied the Extracted file.
4. Go to the following location inside extracted file (\V2.6.0.0 Drivers\x64).
5. Run the following command “pnputil -i -a xrusbser.inf” without quotes. Driver will be successfully installed.
6. Once the driver is installed, reboot the server.
