- NetBotz Rack Monitor 755 (NBWL0755)

Environment:
NetBotz Rack Monitor 700 Series

Resolution:

IMPORTANT! Follow each section listed below as there are differences in the process depending on the currently running firmware version.
Downloading the Most Current Firmware

The most current firmware is located on the product page on APC.com within the Software and Firmware downloads section:
- NetBotz Rack Monitor 750

IMPORTANT! When downloading the upgrade file from Internet Explorer of older versions of Microsoft Edge, the file may be converted upon download to an incompatible extension (.zip).  The file must download as a .sedp extension.  If you experience this issue with your browser, use an alternative browser to download the upgrade file.
Determining Current Firmware Version

1) Log into the NetBotz Appliance web interface (Web UI) using an Administrator account.

2) Navigate to the Settings menu and select Firmware Update.

3) Follow the appropriate steps for upgrading from the Running Version:
- Firmware 5.0.1
- Firmware 5.1.X and higher
Upgrading from Firmware 5.0.1

WARNING! If the firmware version is currently at 5.0.1, a reset to defaults will be required after upgrading.

1) In the Web UI, select Settings, then select Firmware Update.

2) Click Choose File and navigate to the firmware file on your computer.  Do not navigate away from the page while the file is uploading, or the upload will be aborted.

3) Click INSTALL to install the firmware, or START AGAIN to select a different firmware version.
NOTE: While the firmware is updating, the Web UI is unavailable.

After updating, the appliance automatically restarts.  The appliance will take about 5 minutes to fully boot after the upgrade process has been completed.  The Web UI will not load until the appliance is fully booted.

4) Instructions on resetting to defaults can be found within knowledge base NetBotz 700 Series | How can I reset to defaults? .
NOTE: If your appliance is not using DHCP, you will need to reconfigure the network settings as defined within NetBotz 700 Series | Configuring Network Settings .

WARNING! You need to manually reconfigure the NetBotz appliance after it has been reset. Under no circumstances should a backup be made in 5.0.1 and imported into any version to which you have upgraded. Doing so will re-import potential database issues and you will need to reset the appliance again and manually reconfigure it.

IMPORTANT! The browser window may not properly display data or allow you to log in after a firmware upgrade from 5.0.1.  Clearing your browser cache should resolve this issue.
Upgrading from Firmware 5.1.X

1) In the Web UI, select Settings, then select Firmware Update.

2) Click Choose File and navigate to the firmware file on your computer.  Do not navigate away from the page while the file is uploading, or the upload will be aborted.

3) Click INSTALL to install the firmware, or START AGAIN to select a different firmware version.
NOTE: While the firmware is updating, the Web UI is unavailable.

After updating, the appliance automatically restarts.  The appliance will take about 10-15 minutes to fully boot after the upgrade process has been completed.  The Web UI will not load until the appliance is fully booted.
