Cause:
Smart-Ups VT and Galaxy 3500 Power off/bypass/power on procedure



Resolution:
UPS BYPASS PROCEDURE WITHOUT BYPASS CABINET
  1. Go to Display Panel
  2. Press the enter button once, select “Control”, select “UPS into Bypass”, Confirm.
  3. Flip Mechanical Bypass Switch on front of UPS to the vertical position.
  4. UPS is now in mechanical bypass
  5. Disconnect all the batteries by sliding out about an inch so they are not making contact with the UPS. This is so they won’t drain out.
  6. Open input feed to UPS



UPS Bypass Procedure IF YOU HAVE BYPASS CABINET
  1. Go to Display Panel
  2. Press the enter button once, select “Control”, select “UPS into Bypass”, Confirm.
  3. Turn Q3 to ON position.
  4. Turn Q2 to OFF Position
  5. At this point you are in maintenance bypass with UPS in static bypass.
  6. If applicable (Turn XR frame DC breaker off)
  7. Turn Q1 to OFF position
  8. Disconnect all the batteries by sliding out about an inch so they are not making contact with the UPS. This is so they won’t drain out.


UPS POWER UP SEQUENCE WITHOUT BYPASS CABINET
  1. Insert all batteries
  2. If applicable (Turn XR frame DC breaker on)
  3. Apply input power to UPS
  4. Check display for lights lit. If bypass light is currently lit proceed to step 6.
  5. If bypass light is not lit, go into control menu and select UPS into bypass
  6. Turn Mechanical switch on front of UPS into the horizontal Position
  7. Got to Control menu and select UPS out of bypass
  8. UPS is now online protecting load
IF YOU HAVE BYPASS CABINET
  1. Insert all batteries
  2. If applicable (Turn XR frame DC breaker on)
  3. Turn ON Q1 (wait about 30 seconds.)
  4. Check display for lights lit. If bypass light is currently lit proceed to step 6.
  5. Check that Q2 IS OFF then select “UPS into Bypass” from the display.
  6. Switch Q2 to ON. Q1, Q2 and Q3 should all be ON at this stage UPS in bypass and in Maintenance bypass (Q3 closed)
  7. Open Q3
  8. Take UPS “out of bypass” via display of the UPS
  9. UPS is now in normal operation (inverter ON)
