Issue:
Uninstallation of PowerChute Personal Edition fails or is incomplete.

Cause:
Incomplete or failed uninstallation
Solution:
NOTE: Editing the system registry improperly can cause system damage. Schneider Electric is not responsible for any consequence caused by editing of the system registry.

You will want to kill the PowerChute.exe, apcsystray.exe, mainserve.exe, and dataserv.exe processes if running before you do the following steps
1. From the installation directory in Explorer
(e.g. 32 Bit - C:\Program Files\APC\APC PowerChute Personal Edition
64 Bit - C:\Program Files (x86)\APC\APC PowerChute Personal Edition remove the entire contents from the first 'APC' down, that is assuming you used the default path and you do not have any other APC products installed.
2.a In the Registry (open by going to Start->Run->type 'regedit') a. go to the
32 bit - 'My Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\APC' key.
64 bit - 'My Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Wow6432Node\APC.
If you do not have any other APC products installed delete the entire APC key, otherwise just delete the APC PowerChute Personal Edition key.
2.b Go to the registry
32 Bit - My Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall
64 Bit - My Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall and then search for PowerChute Personal Edition.
This should return a key with the following contents:
DisplayName
UninstallString.
Remove the entire key where the match occurs.
*Note: Keep track of the 'name of the string', it should be something like {F1486DE6-CC2E-48C0-AD20-C2C142FA1636}. The name string will be depend on what Windows installer assign to it.
64 Bit - running PowerChute Personal Edition 3.1 the uninstaller is in My Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\APC
2.c Go to registry on both 32 bit and 64 bit machines - 'My Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Classes\Installer\Products\'
search for 'PowerChute Personal Edition'.
This should return a key with the following content:
ProductName
Remove the entire key where the match occurs3. If there is still an issue run Microsoft Fix It
NOTE: Once PowerChute has been removed you may need to re-enable HID USB driver to enable Native Power Option i.e. battery icon in the systray. See Schneider Elecric FAQ FA159743 for assistance.
