Resolution:
Equivalent pipe length, is a calculated numeric value that converts the friction losses assoc with valves, bends, fittings and fluid velocities to a representative length of straight pipe of a stated type (metal, plastic, etc) and diameter.  This calcualtion is used to select the proper pipe sizing for runs and riser pipes.  Note: The linear run of the piping is what is used to calcuate the system charge.
