Device IP configuration utility - issues with Windows 10

Published date: 20 April 2018

The Device IP configuration utility does not assign IP addresses when used with Windows 10
Product Line/Environment
  • Wizards and Configurators
    • Device IP configuration wizard v5.0.2 and v5.0.3
When attempting to assign IP addresses using "Find and setup devices off network" and the software is installed on Windows 10, an error message is returned saying "The IP address could not be set, please try a different IP"

Configuring the Device IP configuration utility to run in Windows 7 compatibility mode will resolve the issue. When a new version of the utility has been released, this article will be updated. To setup compatibility mode:
  1. Right click on the "Device IP Configuration Utility 5.0.3" icon and select the "Compatibility" tab
  2. Under "Compatibility mode" choose "Windows 7"
  3. Click "OK"
