PowerChute Personal Edition systray icon missing in Windows XP

The Windows XP task bar has an option to hide unused icons. This option in Windows is enabled by default. Therefore, icons that have not been used recently may be automatically hidden by Windows XP. PowerChute Personal Edition will function properly whether this icon is displayed or whether it is hidden. To check your configuration of this option:

1. Right-click the Windows Taskbar
2. Select "Properties"
3. Ensure the check box "Hide inactive icons" is clear.
4. Click ""OK"" to save changes.

With "Hide inactive icons" unchecked, all system tray icons will always be displayed.

Note: In order to ensure proper access to the APC Icon, you should be logged into the computer as a user with Administrative rights. If you are still not able to see the Icon after going through these steps you may want to try Uninstalling the software (Through Add/Remove programs) and Reinstalling it to re-register the Tray Icon in the systems registry.
