PowerChute Network Shutdown service does not automatically re-start after a shutdown when running on SuSE Linux

Issue:
The PowerChute Network Shutdown service does not automatically re-start after a shutdown.

Product:
PowerChute Network Shutdown v4.2 and earlier

Environment:
SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 15

Solution:

Install the
insserv-compat package from the package repositories on your SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 15 system before attempting to install PowerChute Network Shutdown. This package provides the necessary system tools (insserv, chkconfig) the install and uninstall scripts rely on to register (and unregister) the PowerChute service.

Follow the below steps to install this package:
  1. Copy the insserv-compat rpm package from the iso>Packages>Module BaseSystem>Noarch folder to your machine.
  2. Log in as the root user and execute the following command:
zipper install insserv-compat

After the insserv-compat package has successfully installed, you can install PowerChute Network Shutdown.

NOTE: This issue is resolved in PowerChute Network Shutdown v4.3 which can be downloaded from the APC website.
