How do I clear an overload condition with the Matrix-UPS?
Issue:
My Matrix UPS shows an overload. How do I clear this condition?
Product Line:
Matrix UPS
Environment:
All serial ranges
Cause:
The Matrix will signal overload if there is too much wattage or volt-amps (VA) being drawn by the connected load.
Resolution:
The following must be done to clear an overload condition reported by a Matrix UPS:
1. Reduce the load (the connected equipment plugged into the back of the Matrix) on the UPS and follow the procedure below to reset the unit and clear the fault.
2. Reset the Electronics Unit (EU). This is done by loosening the EU separating screw (see section 3.1 of the Matrix User's Manual). The EU separating screw is attached to a slider - it will not fallout. Once the slider has popped out, the EU will power down causing front display to go dark, and the fans to stop spinning. (Note: when this is done, the Matrix-UPS will be in bypass mode. In this state, the load will be powered and surge protected; however, there is no battery backup). To restart the Matrix EU, tighten the separating screw and press any button under the front LCD display. Use the 'menu' button to get to "UPS Control" and the 'scroll' button to select "Out of Bypass". If the condition persists, completely remove all loads and repeat the above steps. If none of these steps resolve the problem, the Matrix Isolation unit may be at fault and may then need to be replaced.
