PowerChute Personal Edition reports 101% battery capacity/charge and "charging" constantly


Issue

PowerChute Personal Edition is reporting my UPS has 101% battery capacity and constantly reports the battery is charging. See below for a reference.








Product Line
  • PowerChute Personal Edition
  • Back-UPS UPS models

Environment

  • UPS firmware versions version W1, W3,  (check under About->UPS within PowerChute to verify version, similar to 908.W3.D, refer to the middle characters)


Cause

This cosmetic only issue occurs due to a UPS firmware bug. 100 or 101% indicate the UPS is fully charged.


Resolution

This issue is resolved in a future firmware release, tentatively scheduled for Februrary, 2014.
