Why does PowerChute Business Edition using Simple Signalling and an Active Management Technology serial port cause Immediate Shutdown of Operating System?
Issue:
Installing PowerChute Business Edition using Simple Signaling and an Active Management Technology serial port causes Immediate Shutdown of Operating System (and restarting results in another shutdown).
Product Line:
PowerChute Business Edition version 9.1, 9.1.1, 9.2, 9.2.1, 10.0.x
Environment:
Active Management Technology (AMT) ports. These ports are often available on HP machines.
Cause:
The Intel Active Management Technology (AMT) ports are used for Out-of-Band Management.
Solution:
Reboot the OS in Windows Safe Mode and then uninstall PowerChute Business Edition. Reinstall PowerChute use another COM port or a USB port.
