Error: Access to the APC Private Network is disabled. Contact your network administrator.

Published date: 21 September 2018

"Summary: In order to be able to browse to private side devices using the ISX Manager GUI, we make use of a service called LSP (Layered Service Protocol). If this is not installed properly during the ISX Manager Console installation, you will receive an error whenever browsing to the UI of a private side device. There have been cases where LSP does not get properly installed when using Microsoft Windows Vista.

The error will read the following: ""Access to the APC Private Network is disabled. Contact your network administrator.""

Solution: In some scenarios, Windows Vista users may need to temporarily disable the feature known as UAC (User Access Control). This can be done via Control Panel, and then choosing 'User Accounts.' Here you will see the option to 'Turn User Account Control on or off.'

Please remember to re-enable this setting after installing the ISX Manager UI on the local computer.

Please note that ISX Manager is no longer supported and Schneider Electric urges customers to move to the more recent monitoring offerings such a StruxureWare Data Center Expert or EcoStruxure IT.
