Using D-Link Power Over Ethernet Adapters with NetBotz 320 & 420 Appliances

"High Level Usage Instructions:
  • Mount NetBotz 420 or 320 appliance without needing to have electrical outlet nearby
  • NetBotz 420 or 320 appliance can be up to 100 meters (328 feet) from the IEEE 803.3af compliant Ethernet or switch that is supplying power
  • Alternative injector solution runs power from wall outlet over network cable

The Power over Ethernet (PoE) Adapter provides 5V DC power to a NetBotz 420 or 320 monitoring appliance over the network connection from an IEEE 802.3af compliant Ethernet switch (or wall outlet using alternative injector). Both power and data are transmitted over the network cabling.

NetBotz has verified operation of the Linksys p/n WAPPOE Power Over Ethernet adapter with NetBotz appliances ONLY when using the alternative power injector. The WAPPOE has not been verified for operation when accepting power from a standard 803.3af compliant switch.

NetBotz has also verified operation of the D-Link DWL-P50 for use with the NetBotz 320/420. This solution has been verified to accept power from a standard 803.3af compliant POE switch.
