Network Management Card 3 – Removal of password reset procedure

Issue:
There is no ability to reset the password to a default of “apc”

Product:
Network Management Card 3 (AP9640, AP9641)

Environment:
All firmware revisions

Solution:

For security purposes, there is no password reset procedure for NMC3 devices. If a password is forgotten, the device can be reset to complete factory defaults, which would delete all current configuration on the NMC. It is highly recommended to keep regular backups of the current config.ini file, which can be used to recover the NMC after a factory reset has been performed.

The reset the NMC a user can hold the reset button on the front the card for ~30 seconds.
