LONDON, April 20th, 2010 — APC by Schneider Electric, a global leader in integrated critical power and cooling services, today announced availability of its Symmetra PX® 96kW uninterruptable power supply (UPS) system to meet the cost, size and reliability needs of its customers. The Symmetra PX 96kW is scalable in power, runtime and power distribution from 32kW to 96kW, and features a modular UPS, a highly flexible power distribution system that maximizes uptime. The Symmetra PX 96kW family provides the best total cost of ownership (TCO) profile of any UPS system in its class, while offering the high density, availability and reliability that today’s data centres require.

The Symmetra PX 96kW features integrated Modular Power Distribution and its hot-swappable power distribution enables the system to evaluate and respond to high availability requirements without the need for data centre down time. The architecture of the Symmetra PX 96 system enables IT managers to right-size power and runtime based on constant-changing power demands, eliminating the need to predict future rack power requirements.
 
As an integral part of the InfraStruxure architecture, the Symmetra PX offers simplified designs that are highly manageable from operation through expansion. Its self-diagnostic capabilities and standardised modules mitigate the risk of human error resulting in increased overall data centre and server room reliability. In addition, by offering the same core attributes of the existing Symmetra PX family, namely redundancy and scalability, the higher power density and hot-swappable modular power distribution helps ensure system availability and agility while lowering utility and cooling costs. 

 
The Symmetra PX 96kW system addresses the market need for a hot scalable UPS system with power protection and distribution up to 96kW. The system is contained within two 600mm frames and features increased efficiency, redundancy and extended life of batteries. Extended life batteries and increased battery power delivers 25 percent more run time and reduces overall system footprint.
