Alex Khoo is President of Greater China for APC. In 2007, Schneider Electric acquired APC and formed the Critical Power & Cooling Services (CPCS) Business Unit, which includes the APC and MGE UPS Systems brands. The CPCS Business Unit reported revenue of $3.5 billion in 2007 and employs 12,000 people worldwide. Schneider Electric, with 112,000 employees and operations in 190 countries, had 2007 annual sales of $25 billion (€17.3 billion).

Until October, Alex served as Senior Vice President and Zone Director for South East Asia (SEA) within Schneider Electric – Asia Pacific Operating Division (APOD). In this position he was responsible for ensuring successful business development and outstanding customer support in the Asian countries, namely Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia, Bangladesh, Brunei and Laos.

Alex has been with Schneider Electric for over 27 years and has held various positions within the organization in Singapore, France, China and Malaysia.

Alex began his career in 1981 as a Sales Engineer in the Telemecanique Singapore Commercial Office. Based in South East Asia from 1991 to 1995, he held the position Regional Business Development Deputy Director. In 1995 he was posted to Grenoble, France as the Business Development Manager responsible for Marketing, attached to the corporate business unit – Low Voltage Division. In 1998 he joined the Management Team of Greater China as General Manager of the Molded Case Circuit Breaker Plant, accepting this assignment to create the joint-venture plant in Beijing, China. In 2001 Alex was nominated as the Country Director for Malaysia operations based in Kuala Lumpur. In 2003 he assumed additional responsibilities taking charge of the three commercial operations, namely Malaysia, Singapore and Brunei. In 2004 Alex accepted the position of Senior Vice President for SEA within Schneider Electric APOD.

Alex holds an MBA from the University of Leicester, UK.
