The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree, not necessarily in a technical field, or equivalent experience; demonstrated leadership, time-management, and problem-solving abilities; and the aptitude to understand and explain technical information. Successful candidates will also have the ability to develop and maintain productive business relationships with assigned accounts. Superior oral and written communication skills are a must. Experience with or knowledge of PCs is required. Technical Support EngineerAs a Technical Support Engineer, your understanding of power and how it affects sensitive IT equipment will “WOW” our customers. Our TSEs provide expert technical advice on product selection and in-depth troubleshooting of post-sales problems as they relate to power, network design and availability, software, and APC products. Frequently having to interpret policies and make business decisions to meet aggressive deadlines, our TSEs operate with a lot of autonomy. As a TSE, you will also be a key contributor in the product development process by investigating design, reliability, and maintenance issues of APC products. The TSE career path leads to increasingly advanced areas of technical support, managerial roles, and positions in a variety of other departments within APC globally. Successful candidates for this position will possess strong technical and IT backgrounds; we require a BS (preferably in Engineering or CS) or equivalent work experience. The ability to think analytically and make sound business decisions are a must; knowledge of power and electricity is a plus. This position will require some travel to industry trade shows and miscellaneous trainings. EngineeringElectrical EngineerAs an Electrical Engineer, your expertise in the ever-changing field of electronics will be instrumental in developing the highest caliber circuit design in our industry. You will use your stores of knowledge in control theory, micro-coding, semiconductor physics, thermal analysis, fluid dynamics, and much more to back up your regular design work in power, analog, and digital circuit design. Your common sense in mechanical stress and materials characteristics, along with general economics and business intuition, will help you make smart decisions that contribute to the destiny of your projects. APC electrical engineers design products that contain power, analog, digital, micro-code, ASICs, and magnetic circuit elements. Mechanical EngineerAs a Mechanical Engineer, you will be challenged to design a product that delights your customers, is easy and economical to build, does the job, and looks great all at once. This is not easy when you consider the fact that you seldom get more than one chance! Our mechanical engineers design products that contain intricate sheet steel and detailed plastic elements to contain heavy and very densely packed electronic components. You will be involved in the aesthetic design and look, concept creation, mechanical and thermal analysis, SolidWorks entry and simulation, drawings, prototype creation, and the development of the tools to produce millions of what you conceived. Firmware EngineerAs a Firmware Engineer, you will do what many would find impossible. You will understand your customers; understand the electrical circuits' design, strengths and limitations; understand the power and limits of your processor; and develop the core intelligence that makes the product live, breathe, and adapt to its environment, all while satisfying even the most latent of customers’ needs. Our firmware engineers design assembly code for a variety of processor architectures to control the power flow and functionality of products designed to protect the data and hardware of workstations, servers, and critical system components from damaging power fluctuations. You will be involved in state conceptualization, data flow analysis, structure definition, hardware design, code implementation, and verification testing. Continuing EngineerAs a Continuing Engineer, you keep the power moving. You will be charged with bringing design into reality as you deliver award-winning products to customers all over the world. You will use your stores of knowledge in electrical, mechanical, control, magnetics, semiconductors, thermal effects, flow dynamics, mechanical stress, materials characteristics and much more to detect, track, and solve some of the world's toughest physics problems. APC products contain challenges in power, analog, digital, micro-code, ASICs, magnetic circuit elements, intricate sheet steel and detailed plastic elements. Associate Software EngineerAs an Associate Software Engineer, you will build the interface that customers say really sets APC apart from its competitors, taking JAVA and C++ software applications from concept to market. On a typical day, you will write code, test, and debug applications; work with our customers and our Technical Support Team to define systems requirements and/or modifications; recommend and implement product and process improvements; complete documentation and procedures for specification, design, installation and maintenance; work on software integration with some of the most popular tools in the industry; and work with industry leaders such as IBM, Dell and HP.
