BenefitsIn addition to market competitive wages, APC offers a wide variety of benefits which impact our regular employees (working 32 hours or more per week).
Employee Share PlanAPC Employees are periodically offered the opportunity to purchase shares of Schneider Electric's Common Stock (traded on the Paris Stock Exchange) at a discount from current market price. Plan details may vary with program offerings 401(k) Savings PlanAPC offers a fully vested employer matching contribution 401(K) plan for retirement planning. Please contact APC for plan details and past performance information. Medical CoverageA national PPO covers APC employees and their dependents throughout the U.S. It provides coverage with participating health care providers for hospitalization, medical and surgical services, as well as office visits and prescriptions. Employees are responsible for a modest premium contribution and enjoy the benefits of market-competetive co-payments and generous coverage. (Plans may differ in other countries) Full Dental CoverageUS Employees and their dependents are covered to a maximum of $1500 per year in dental services (excluding orthodontia) through this plan, again with premium fully paid for by APC. Short-term DisabilityShort-term disability provides income replacement for up to 180 days if an employee becomes disabled and unable to work. The insured short-term disability plan provides a benefit of 66 2/3% of salary which is taxable. Long-term DisabilityProvides continuing income for long-term disabilities. After 180 days, this coverage pays a monthly income of up to 66 2/3% of your pre-disability base earnings to a maximum of $5,000 per month (taxable). Life InsuranceAPC's life insurance covers employees for one times annual base salary (not to exceed US$100,000), the full premium for which is paid for by the company. In instances of accidental death, this coverage is twice annual base salary. APC also offers Supplemental Life Insurance that allows you to purchase up to $500,000 in coverage at a reduced cost. Flexible Spending AccountAPC offers a Medical Savings Account and Dependent Care Account which allows you to put money away pre-tax for medical, dental and dependent care expenses not covered by APC's medical and dental plan. Tuition AssistanceThis program, which is availed of by many employees, pays for your education while you work at APC! This allows employees to grow professionally and personally while at work. This program pays for many work-related courses that employees take during off-work hours.Relocation ProgramToday's workplace is truly global and boundaryless in every respect. Recognizing this, APC offers a relocation program which makes it hassle-free for employees transitioning geographically.Leaves of AbsenceAPC also offers several forms of paid and unpaid leaves of absence for employees who may require extended periods of time away from work. Paid leaves include bereavement leave, military leave and jury duty. Unpaid leaves include family care leave, medical leave, education leave, and personal leave.HolidaysAPC observes eleven holidays per calendar year. The holidays include: New Year's Day, President's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Columbus Day, Veterans Day, Thanksgiving Day, Day After Thanksgiving, Christmas Day, plus one floating holiday designated in advance each year by APC. Regular part-time employees are eligible for holiday pay if the holiday falls on a regularly scheduled work day.VacationAPC believes that taking time off is important for the well-being of self and community. To encourage employees to take leave and refresh themselves, APC provides vacation time ranging from ten days to four weeks, another commitment of APC and its employees towards being the "employer and workplace of choice."
