Limiting Interactive Bandwidth Consumption on Version 2 and 3 Appliances
Issue:
Limiting Interactive Bandwidth Consumption on Version 2 and 3 Appliances
Product Line:
NetBotz
Environment:
NetBotz version 2 and 3
Cause:
Alternative configuration for limiting bandwidth.
Resolution:
In the Advanced View for a Version 2 Appliances, under “Configuration, Camera Pods”, ""Settings"" there is a setting that can limit bandwidth consumption for the camera in interactive mode. The “Percent” setting simply limits the amount of frame rate that can be viewed on that particular camera in real-time using the Advanced View or Basic View.
In other words, if the “Percent” is set to 50%, as it is in this case, then the interactive frame-rate limit would be a maximum of 50% of what it would normally be….so instead of 30 frames/sec @ 640x480, a user would only be able to get 15 frames/sec @ 640x480. Likewise, if that was set to 25%, then they would only be able to view a maximum of approximately 7 frames/sec @ 640x480.
