Issue:
BMS AP9921X-AP9922; Environment Alarms

Product line:
Battery Management System (BMS) AP9921X & AP9922

Environment:
All models, all serial numbers

Cause:
Critical Alarms

High Ambient Temperature:
The air temperature in the battery string environment is above the configured threshold. Default high threshold: 95.0°F (35°C) Check temperature control and ventilation systems in the room, and check for overheated batteries (usually caused by overcharging). NOTE: Lead-Acid batteries provide optimum output and longevity at 77°F. An uncorrected high temperature can significantly shorten the life of the battery string.

Warning Alarms

Low Ambient Temperature:
The air temperature in the battery string environment is below the configured threshold. Default low threshold: 50.0°F (10°C) Check temperature control and ventilation systems in the room. NOTE: Lead-Acid batteries provide optimum output and longevity at 77°F. An uncorrected low temperature can prevent the battery from providing adequate power to the UPS, and will cause the UPS to drop the load prematurely.

Input Contacts:
Activation of input contacts triggers an alarm. Check the status of the external monitoring device that sent the input signal.

Resolution:
Correct the cause of the failure symptom, alarm.
