Cannot enable SSL HTTPS port 443 communication on ISX Central 3.0.1, 4.0 or 4.1
Issue:
Cannot enable SSL HTTPS port 443 communication on ISX Central 3.0.1, 4.0 or 4.1
Product Line:
InfraStruxure Central
Environment:
InfraStruXureCentral version 3.0.1, 4.0 or 4.1
Cause:
If no SSL certificate is installed, SSL communication cannot be activated on the ISX Central interface
Resolution:
Symptoms:
Enabling the checkbox SSL (menu Tools -> Server Administration -> Server settings -> Server access -> HTTPS port 443 -> enable) on the ISX Central console will lead to rebooting the device without any changes taken. After the reboot the box will be unchecked again, no SSL functionality will be given.
Background:
In order to establish communication via SSL, a certificate must be existent in the ISX Central device.
Solution:
Check on the ISX Central console in menu Tools -> Server Administration -> Server settings -> Server security -> Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) for an existing certificate. If the original APC-MGE certificate has been removed, a self-signed certificate needs to be issued and uploaded into the unit. APC-MGE does not provide the certificate once it has been removed from the unit. You will find help on how to create a self-signed SSL certificate on the internet, since this is depending on your specific needs and what type of certificate you want to use - APC-MGE does not offer a tool to create such a certificate
