Ask a Question

When finger-style vertical cable managers are used is it possible to also block off the openings in the mounting rails?

Issue:
A customer using the finger-style vertical cable managers inside a NetShelter cabinet wants to know how to block hot air from recirculating through the rails.

Product Line:
NetShelter SX

Environment:
All versions and serial ranges.

Cause:
There are holes in the finger-style vertical cable managers to allow cables to run from front to rear inside the cabinet. If left open hot air can recirculate through these holes.

Resolution:
Without the finger-style vertical cable managers in place you can use AR7706 in the wide NetShelter cabinets. It's a brush strip style airflow management product that allows cables to pass through.
When there are finger style cable managers installed inside the cabinet the AR7706 can not also be installed. Instead you can use AR7714 as a pass-thru airflow management accessory. The AR7714 installs onto the finger style vertical cable manager, not onto the vertical mounting rail.
