Ask a Question

When sharing StruxureWare Central and ISX Manager private networks, Central's DHCP server will fail to start.

Issue:

When sharing StruxureWare Central and ISX Manager private networks, Central's DHCP server will fail to start.

Product Line:

InfraStruxure Central/StruxureWare Data Center Expert
InfraStruxure Manager

Environment:

All versions

Cause:

As with any network, IP conflicts will arise if 2 devices use the same IP. If ISX Central and ISX Manager share their private networks, this is the case as well if you use the default private side IPs. The Central's DHCP server will fail to start with this configuration. Other communications issues will occur as well.

Resolution:

To avoid this and properly start Central's private network, change the IP of the Central server and turn off the DHCP server on Central before running a migration that includes private devices, or until Manager is removed from the private network.
