CONSUMER ALERT REGARDING "APC BY KRYPTONITE" NOTEBOOK COMPUTER KEY LOCKS (PNOTEKL5 AND PNOTEKL8)

As part of APC's longstanding commitment to the integrity and reliability of all of our products, we want to make you aware of an issue impacting our PNoteKL5 and PNoteKL8 notebook computer key locks.

As you may have read in the newspaper or heard on the news, Kryptonite, a manufacturer of a variety of locks - last week identified a vulnerability in a majority of its circular key locks. After careful inspection of our notebook computer key locks branded "APC by Kryptonite" (PNoteKL5 and PNoteKL8), we have discovered that this issue does, in fact, impact our product and make it possible for our key lock to be breached.

While we discontinued the sale of our entire line of physical computer security products, including key, combination and sensor locks, a year ago, we are making every effort to reach out to consumers who purchased our key locks and ensure that they are assisted in an efficient and convenient manner.

We would like to emphasize that this issue does not affect our "APC by Kryptonite" notebook computer combination locks (PNoteCL5 and PNoteCL8) or sensor lock (PNoteSL).

If you purchased the "APC by Kryptonite" PNoteKL5 or PNoteKL8 notebook computer key lock between 2001 and the fall of last year, call 866-272-7359 for specific instructions on how to exchange the key product for a combination product.

We look forward to continuing to provide the excellent customer service and high-quality products you have come to expect from APC.
