Issue:
After installation of my AP9361 into my SX rack, the handle gets jammed when I command it to open by the web interface or proximity card. Is this typical?

Product Line:
NetBotz Rack access

Environment:
NetBotz Rack Access Handles

Cause:
The handle of the AP9361 Rack Access PX should open and close smoothly with the key, proximity card, and web interface in all cases. It has been discovered that the installation of the handles beyond a recommended torque requirement may cause the internal mechanism to bind, causing the handle to jam.

Resolution:
To remedy this issue perform the following when installing the Rack Access PX lock handle:
1.) Slide the Rack Access PX lock through the opening in the enclosure door where the original lock was located.
2.) Place the rear cover on the lock and insert the screws and secure WITH A MAXIMUM TORQUE OF 7 - 8 INCH-POUNDS to secure the lock in place.
3.) Command the lock to open several times to assure no binding is occurring with the newly installed handle.

This requirement is for both front and rear handles. Failure to comply with this requirement may cause a jam of unlocking action for the handle when commanded by proximity card or web interface. APC is also currently reviewing other actions that can be taken in conjunction with this torque requirement to further simplify the installation of these handles to prevent jamming.

If after installing AP9361 handles to the specified torque requirements, the handles do not operate properly. Please contact APC Technical support at (800) 555-2725 for further assistance.
