Philippe DegraveChief Financial OfficerPhilippe Degrave is Chief Financial Officer (CFO) at APC. In 2007, Schneider Electric acquired APC and formed the Critical Power and Cooling Services (CPCS) Business Unit, which includes the APC and MGE UPS Systems brands. The CPCS Business Unit reported revenue of $3.5 billion in 2007 and employs 12,000 people worldwide. Schneider Electric, with 112,000 employees and operations in 190 countries, had 2007 annual sales of $25 billion (€17.3 billion). Philippe joined Schneider Electric in 1990 and has enjoyed a successful career in various senior finance and audit positions throughout the company. He began his career with Schneider Electric as European Controller of Telemecanique, a business of Schneider Electric, and quickly advanced to become the Schneider Electric European Operations Controller, an entity with sales in excess of €3B and more than 18,000 employees. He then went on to become the CFO of the Greater China Operations, based in Beijing, where he was responsible for Finance, Control and IT for all of Greater China. Five years later he accepted the position as Senior Vice President of Finance and Control for the Europe Operating Division, an entity with sales of €5B. From January 2006 until his appointment as CFO, Philippe Degrave served as Senior Vice President, Corporate Internal Audit for Schneider Electric. Based in Paris France, in his three years in this role, Philippe advanced the internal audit function from a compliance only model to a performance and operational model, expanding the depth and knowledge of the group. Highlights in Philippe’s career with Schneider Electric are many, and include the creation of the controller function in Europe, the financial integration of the European operation, and the coordination of the function’s strategic plan and budget. As an expatriate in China, Philippe selected and implemented SAP, created a credit management department, and recruited and developed a team of local talent to drive the financial control function in Greater China. Philippe holds a degree from Ecole Superieure de Commerce de Paris, with a major in International Finance. He is of French nationality, and is fluent in both French and English. Philippe is married with one child and resides in Rhode Island. He enjoys playing the clarinet, tennis and cinema and believes an important leadership quality is humor. |
