After a graceful shutdown by PowerChute Business Edition or PowerChute Network Shutdown, Windows Vista system fails to turn on when utility power is restored.

Environment:
Windows Vista

Cause:
This is a limitation of Microsoft Vista at this time. This is similar to FA159604 however with the limitation in Vista, the only option currently is to set the power options in the system's bios to an "Always On" state. With this setting, any time power is removed from and then restored to the system, the computer should reboot.

Solution:

 Issue is resolved with Windows Vista SP1.
